If you want to massively shorten your sales cycle, it’s relatively easy to do.First, target your dream clients, the prospects for whom you can create breathtaking, earth shattering, jaw dropping value. You know the ones I mean. The ones who perceive massive value from what you do. The ones who have the exact challenges you resolve. The ones trying to get to the future that you provide.Wasting time with prospects who don’t value what you do deprives you of the time you need to spend with your dream clients. Stick to your sweet spot, come Hell or high water.Second, call your dream clients on the telephone. Don’t email them first. Don’t connect with them on Twitter. Don’t wait for marketing. Don’t wait for inbound. Don’t even hang out in a LinkedIn Group commenting on questions. Seriously, if you want to compress the sales cycle, start by compressing the time it takes you to get a meeting.I asked a small group of salespeople to make phone calls for two hours today. They booked 22 appointments in that two hours. When time is of the essence, act like it.Third, make sure that you create enough value in every interaction that you deserve the right to ask for the next commitment you need to move the process forward. Never leave a client interaction without obtaining the next commitment. The reason it takes longer to win deals is because salespeople make three calls to do what they might have done in one call.Your sales process should outline those commitments. When you leave a meeting without a commitment, you have failed. And you’ve failed your dream client by taking longer to help them get better results. There are no secrets here. These are the fundamentals. This is all blocking and tackling; three yards and cloud of dust.If your sales cycle is longer than it needs to be (or if your pipeline is shallow), ask yourself which of these three fundamentals you aren’t practicing. Sini Jose has been provisionally suspended by NADA after flunking dope test for anabolic steroid.Sini Jose, one of the eight athletes who recently tested positive for banned substances, on Wednesday blamed the country’s athletics coaches for the scandal.A member of the Commonwealth Games 4×400 metre gold winning quartet, Jose lifted the lid on the doping scandal. It was the first time that any of the tainted athletes came out accusing the coaches of giving them performance enhancing drugs in the name of vitamins.Jose said: “We had taken vitamins (not contaminated food supplements). Our coach had given us some vitamins. We are innocent.”The athletes had earlier claimed that they did not know how the banned substances got into their system. They had blamed adulterated food supplements or food contamination.Earlier in the day, three of the eight athletes, who had failed dope test, appeared before a National Anti-Doping Agency panel for their B sample examination. Jose, Tiana Mary and Juana Murmu were summoned by the NADA panel. The Union sports ministry had on Tuesday directed the Sports Authority of India (SAI) to sack the foreign athletics coaches.

It’s important to note that while our successful commercial operation helps drive that investment, the priority is the focus on achieving success on the pitch.”Similarly, it is worth noting that we are not looking at or buying players based on their commercial appeal. We agree that recruitment is critical. We are committed to getting this right and there has been huge investment in this area to put our recruitment department into a position to be able to deliver the manager the players he wants. This process is significantly more effective than four or five years ago.”

Vardy’s wife, Rebekah, was involved in a huge Twitter spat during the international break in which Coleen Rooney, wife of Wayne Rooney, publicly accused Rebekah of leaking private stories about the Rooney family to the press. During Leicester’s win, Burnley fans however took the opportunity to goad Vardy, chanting: ‘Jamie Vardy, your wife is a grass’ while the away side were leading 1-0 in the Premier League game.Vardy equalised for the home side just before the half time break and was quick to run over to the Burnley fans to vent his frustrations at them.
Kansas’ 2014-15 men’s basketball season came to an end on Sunday, when the No. 2-seeded Jayhawks fell to No. 7 seed Wichita State in the NCAA Tournament’s Third Round. Bill Self is already working on setting up his 2015-16 squad. According to Scout.com’s Evan Daniels, the Kansas coach is meeting with Charlotte graduate transfer Mike Thorne today. Thorne, who has one year of eligibility remaining, averaged 10.1 points and 7.3 rebounds a game this past season. Pittsburgh’s Jamie Dixon will be in tomorrow.— Evan Daniels (@EvanDaniels) March 26, 2015Kansas is likely to lose forward Kelly Oubre and, potentially, Cliff Alexander and Perry Ellis, but the Jayhawks should be contenders to win the Big 12 once again. Adding Thorne, one of the most-sought after graduate transfers in the country, would be a big boost for Kansas’ potential in 2015-16.

JOHN, B.C. – A Fort St. John man who was charged with conspiracy to import cocaine in Halifax back in June will be appearing in court early next month on a number of separate charges stemming from arrests that occurred shortly after he was released on bail.46-year-old Darcy Peter Bailey was arrested on June 9th along with two other men after Canada Border Services Agency divers discovered roughly 150 kilograms of cocaine had been strapped to the bottom of the Arica, a container ship registered in Liberia. The three men were allegedly in possession of diving equipment when they were arrested near the Port of Halifax, and were charged with conspiracy to import cocaine into Canada. In mid-July, Bailey was released on $10,000 bail along with 34-year-old Matthew Ryan Lambert of Richmond, B.C., whose bail was set at $50,000. Hyderabad: Sanju Samson smashed the first century of the ongoing Indian Premier League and together with skipper Ajinkya Rahane stitched a century stand to guide Rajasthan Royals to a mammoth 198 for two against Sunrisers Hyderabad here on Friday. Samson didn’t spare a single Sunrisers’ bowler and remained unbeaten on 102 that came off just 55 balls with the help of 10 fours and four hits over the fence. It was Samson’s second IPL ton. His first century in the T20 tournament came in 2017. Also Read – Puducherry on top after 8-wkt win over ChandigarhOpening the batting after winning the toss, Rahane led from the front with 49-ball 70 and together with Samson shared 119 runs for the second wicket to set the base for the total after the early dismissal of Jos Buttler. Introduced into the attack in the fourth over, Rashid Khan (1/24) struck with only his second ball, cleaning up dangerman Buttler around his legs. Rajasthan’s decision to bat first didn’t go according to plan, at least, in the powerplay as the visitors struggled against Sunrisers’ disciplined bowling to garner just 35 runs in the first six overs. Also Read – Vijender’s next fight on Nov 22, opponent to be announced laterAfter Buttler’s dismissal, skipper Rahane was joined at the crease by Samson and the duo played cautiously without taking any undue risk to take Rajasthan forward. While Rahane played the anchor’s role, Samson opened up his arms soon and smashed two sixes in consecutive overs of Shabaz Nadeem and Siddharth Kaul to give some momentum to Rajasthan’s innings. Rahane soon joined his junior colleague and clobbered Nadeem straight over his head as Rajasthan reached 75 for one at the halfway stage. After a slow start, Rahane stepped on the accelerator and welcomed Vijay Shankar with six over deep square leg boundary. Both Rahane and Samson paced their innings to perfection, as after playing cautiously initially, they broke their shackles when needed and notched up the team’s 100 in 11.5 overs. Rahane registered his first fifty of the ongoing IPL in 38 balls while Samson brought up his half-century in 34 deliveries as the duo raised 100-run stand for the second wicket in 65 balls. Rahane finally departed in the 16th over bowled by Nadeem, holed out by Manish Pandey at long-on as he went for a big shot. He struck four boundaries and three sixes during his knock. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s torrid time at the death overs continued. If it was Andre Russell in the last match, it was Samson Friday as the young Kerala batsman too the senior pacer to cleaners, hitting him for four boundaries and one six to pick up 24 runs from the 18th over. As if that was not enough, Bhuvneshwar witnessed yet another forgettable day as he leaked 21 runs in the last over. Brief scores: Rajasthan Royals 198/2 (Sanju Samson 102 not out, Ajinkya Rahane 70) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Rookie Russell Wilson staked his claim to be the Seattle Seahawks’ starting quarterback on Friday night, throwing for 185 yards and two touchdowns to lead his team to a 44-14 preseason rout of the Kansas City Chiefs. The third-round draft pick out of Wisconsin also scrambled for 58 yards as visiting Seattle scored on its first six possessions to effectively put the game out of reach by halftime. The 5-foot-11 Wilson has been competing with Matt Flynn for the starting job. Flynn, the former Green Bay backup who was signed as a free agent in the offseason, missed the game with a sore elbow, giving Wilson the stage to himself. He made the most of his opportunity.“He’s done everything we’ve asked of him,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. “This is the guy we hoped he would be. All of the talk about how tall he is and all that stuff, I don’t see it being a factor. I don’t see it, I have watched more carefully than anybody could have ever watched, and I don’t see it being an issue. It isn’t to me.”Seattle looked impressive in remaining unbeaten (3-0) as it prepares for its preseason finale against the Oakland Raiders next week. The Seahawks open the regular season at Arizona on Sept. 9.Wilson paced the offense to field goals on his first two possessions before hooking up with tight end Kellen Winslow, Jr. for a 21-yard scoring strike early in the second period.Wilson, who completed 13 of 19 passes without an interception, added an 11-yard touchdown pass to Charly Martin the first half’s waning moments as Seattle raced to the 23-7 halftime edge and never looked back.In three preseason games, Wilson has completed 67 percent (35 of 52) of his passes for 464 yards and five touchdowns with just one interception. The Chiefs’ offensive struggles helped assure the game’s lopsided margin. New offensive coordinator Brian Daboll’s offensive attack fizzled, going three-and-out on three of its first four possessions.Quarterback Matt Cassel completed 19 of 34 passes for 168 yards and a score, but was also intercepted by Seattle safety Earl Thomas, who returned it 75 yards for a third-quarter score. The Seahawks’ Golden Tate added a 95-yard punt return for another touchdown later in the period to push his team’s lead to 44-7.Kansas City wraps up the preseason at Green Bay next week before hosting Atlanta to open the regular season on Sept. 9.
Ohio State football realized perfection for the sixth time in its 123-year history. The 109th meeting between OSU and Michigan, ranked No. 4 and No. 20, respectively, by the Associated Press for the teams’ 2012 meeting, saw the Buckeyes polish off a 12-0 season under the direction of first-year coach Urban Meyer. OSU defeated UM, 26-21, Saturday at Ohio Stadium. As some expected, the dual-threat quarterbacking combo of Michigan senior Denard Robinson and junior Devin Gardner caused problems for the Buckeyes. Gardner threw for 171 yards, one touchdown and one costly interception on 11-of-20 attempts. Robinson did not attempt a pass in the game, but did lineup under center. He rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown. OSU’s defensive performance, particularly in the second half, was more than the Wolverines could overcome. UM failed to drive into the red zone in the second half and an interception by junior safety C.J. Barnett with less than five minutes to play nearly clinched the win. The Buckeyes defense stifled the UM attack despite missing senior defensive end John Simon, who missed out on Senior Day festivities and the competition with a right knee injury sustained a week ago in a game against Wisconsin. After the interception, OSU junior running back Carlos Hyde, who ran for 146 yards and a touchdown, took the game over, helping the Buckeyes to two first downs to bleed the fourth-quarter clock out and win The Game. Fans stormed the field. Players rejoiced. Meyer pumped his fists wildly. However unrealistic the expectations of an undefeated season might have seemed when Meyer was hired in late November 2011, he had made good on them. With the win, OSU remains in play for the AP‘s national title crown. The victory is OSU’s 44th in the history of The Game, though UM, eliminated from Big Ten title contention after Nebraska won on Friday, still owns the all-time series advantage with a 58-44-6 record. The largest Ohio Stadium crowd in the history of the OSU-UM rivalry (105,899) assembled in a bitter chill and light but steady snowfall throughout most of the first half. OSU sophomore quarterback Braxton Miller was 14-of-18 for 189 yards and one touchdown. Buckeyes junior receiver Corey Brown muffed a punt that led to points for UM, but did his best to make up for the uncharacteristic error as he caught eight passes for 95 yards and a touchdown. OSU junior kicker Drew Basil was the high scorer in the contest. Basil, who only attempted six kicks coming into the team’s 12th game, tallied 14 points while connecting four-of-five of his field goal tries from 41, 52, 28 and 25 yards. In addition to help close out the win for OSU, Hyde also helped the Buckeyes jump to an early lead. Hyde blew through the Michigan line 2:19 into the game, scurrying into the end zone on a 3-yard run to put OSU up, 7-0, on the very first possession of the game. The early score was keyed by 52-yard pass reception by sophomore receiver Devin Smith, who broke loose, gathered the deep ball from Miller and joined many of the OSU faithful in attendance in a celebratory bounce. The game’s back-and-forth tenor would be established by Gardner on the next drive when he found senior receiver Roy Roundtree on a 75-yard reception to level the score. Roundtree broke down the east sideline in front of the Wolverines bench and, after slowing his run for a blocker, traipsed into the end zone. The weather seemed to mimic the intensity of the rivalry in that moment as the snow began to fall heavier. Much of the intrigue in The Game centers around the history of the respective programs, and OSU paid homage to its greatest football triumph of the last decade when the 2002 national championship team was honored between the first and second quarters. Former Buckeye coach Jim Tressel, once shamed by the “Tattoo-Gate” scandal that resulted in his forced resignation as OSU coach, was hoisted onto the shoulders of his former players, much to the delight of many in Ohio Stadium. Brown had scored two punt-return touchdowns coming into the team’s final game. His muffed punt early in the second quarter resulted in threatening position for UM on the OSU 25-yard line, and a roughing the passer penalty on OSU redshirt senior defensive lineman Nathan Williams pushed the visitors closer to a score. Gardner eventually capped the drive, scoring on a 2-yard quarterback-keeper run to put the Wolverines in front, 14-10. The lead was the first for UM in Ohio Stadium since the team’s 2006 meeting, which OSU won, 42-39. The teams fought to gain an edge heading into half, and OSU inched its nose in front when Miller found Brown on a 14-yard completion to go back in front at 17-14 with 1:30 to play in the first half. UM retook possession with 90 seconds to play until the break, and retook the lead when Robinson scampered 67 yards into the end zone, gesturing to fans in the south stand after he crossed the goal line. With the wind at his back, Basil uncorked a 52-yard field goal to send OSU into break trailing, 21-20. Basil then opened the scoring in the second half, connecting from 28 yards to put OSU back in front, 23-21. When UM assumed possession, OSU used a Robinson fumble to attempt to assume control of the game. OSU junior safety Christian Bryant gouged the ball from Robinson grasp at the 7:26 mark in the third quarter and Williams recovered the ball on the UM 37-yard line. A pensive Ohio Stadium crowd was lifted for the moment, but the drive ended with Basil’s first field goal miss of the day after the a 3rd-down snap flew over Miller’s head, causing a fumble the quarterback dove to recover. Basil’s were the only points of the third quarter. Instead of scores, OSU and Michigan traded venomous hits, bellying up to the opposition on what seemed like every hit. One such hit, administered to Gardner with less than nine minutes to play, caused a fumble that OSU junior defensive lineman Johnathan Hankins fell gather on the Wolverines’ 10-yard line. The red zone opportunity had potential to put the 2012 edition of The Game on ice, but ended with Basil’s fourth field goal of the game. He hit from 25 yards out to push the Buckeyes’ lead to 26-21. The clincher came just moments later when Barnett intercepted Gardner, leading to the game-clinching drive for OSU. OSU, which posted a 12-0 overall record and an 8-0 mark in the Big Ten, clinched the Big Ten Conference’s outright Leaders’ Division title last weekend at Wisconsin. The Buckeyes will now have to wait until after college football’s bowl season to learn its final positioning in the AP poll.
